The Georgia Aquarium

We spent a day at the Georgia Aquarium while we were in Atlanta. It is the world's largest aquarium. It was a wonderful aquarium and had some really cool fish and sharks and things I have never seen before in my life and my boys were in awe. I am not sure it is my favorite aquarium. Monterrey still ranks much higher in my book. This aquarium had so many cool little hideouts and tunnels just for kids in all of the exhibits where they could view the tanks from their perspective only and the boys loved that. We lucked out and it really wasn't that busy which was wonderful because we were able to spend so much time at the hands on areas and all the people that worked there were able to share so much more one on one info with us.
Aidan's favorite part was the penguins and Nick loved the sharks and mantas. We definitely will have to try and get back there before we leave this area.

Weekend in Atlanta with Grandma

We went and picked up Grandma M. at the airport in Atlanta and spent a night hanging out by the pool and then headed to the Georgia Aquarium. The boys had a blast at Johnny Rockets with Grandma drinking shakes and putting nickels in the jukebox and picking out songs. Nick swam for almost 2 hours because he made friends at the pool. There was a big fight over who got to sleep in Grandma's bed with her. We played in Centennial park until the sun set and just enjoyed some amazing Fall weather while we were there.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today with Aidan's school. He had a blast and the pumpkin patch had so much to do we could have stayed all day. We took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and picked our pumpkins right off the vine. Then they played in the corn maze and the hay jumping area for a while and then we rode back up to the barn where they had all kinds of good food, bouncy houses, petting zoo, train rides, and life size tee-pees to play in. The kids were so exhausted when we were done. We picked some cute pumpkins and Aidan is already talking about going back with Nick and Daddy.

Alabama National Fair

We went to the Alabama National Fair in Montgomery yesterday. We had a great time despite the temps being back up into the 90's. It is basically like a small county fair with a massive Midway. It is pretty sad compared to the Minnesota State Fair. Jeremy had a Krispy Kreme burger which he said was very good. The boys had lots of fun treats too. We enjoyed the animals in the barns and especially the hands on petting zoo. The boys both rode lots of rides and didn't want to leave.

Connor's Birthday Party

Here are a few pictures from Aidan's friend Connor's birthday party. He had his birthday party at the gym and had a bouncy house, and bowling, and these ride on scooters. All the boys had a blast running around like crazy.

Montgomery Half Marathon

I ran the Montgomery Half Marathon on Saturday with my running partner Paulette. It was a beautiful scenic race and we got amazing weather for it. I think I drank too much water from training in the crazy heat so much and got a really bad cramp at mile 12 and had to walk a little. I still finished faster then my last half marathon time and I felt amazing after the race so I think that means we trained hard enough for it. I am not going to run any more races for a while even though so many people are already bugging me to do races in the spring. I am sure I will change my mind after the new year. For now I am just going to enjoy my tennis league and just basic classes at the gym again and the occasional jog for my own enjoyment.

More Fall Baseball

Here are a few more pictures of Nick playing baseball. He is still having a blast and learning so much every game. He has been playing third base and is pretty good at fielding the ball but getting the ball out of his glove and across the field to first base is a whole other story. We hope he continues to enjoy baseball because it is really fun to watch.
