Touch a Truck

Yesterday we went to Prattville's Touch-a-Truck event. They had all kinds of trucks on display that you could sit in and honk the horns and move the cranes etc. There were firetrucks, UPS trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, front loaders, diggers, race cars, etc. The kids had a blast looking in all the trucks especially the bomb squad truck where they got to drive the bomb detonator robot. We went to one like this in California when Nick was little which was cool because there were all kinds of military trucks but it was cool to see some of the civilian vehicles this time.

Summer Fun

Well it might not officially be summer yet but school is ending and it is HOT here. Back in the 90's the last few days and it isn't going to change again until after we leave I have a feeling. So the kids have been using the slip n slide lots and now that our pool opened up again we have been swimming up a storm too. Swimming, ice cream, the lake, lazy days......... I mean what more can you ask for. I LOVE SUMMER!

Aidan's End of the Year Program

Last night Aidan had his end of the year performance and party. Each class performed a nursery rhyme which they dressed up like the characters in the nursery rhyme. Aidan's class did Hickory Dickory Dock. The boys were clocks and the girls were mice. It was very cute. I think without the box on their head they kind of looked like little UPS men but it was still cute. A few mishaps happened like one of the Humpty Dumpty eggs from another class fell off the top riser and really cracked his head. Luckily, he was ok. And all the boxes were more of a distraction to the kids in Aidan's class then a help I think. They kept knocking on each other's boxes. We have loved this school this year and loved his teacher Mrs. Vaughn and are very sad to be leaving. Hopefully, we will find another school next year that is just as fun and care for children as much as this one does. For now we will enjoy summer vacation!

Nick's First Communion

On Saturday Nick celebrated the sacrament of receiving communion for the first time. We were blessed to have Jeremy's family come down and witness the occasion. He seemed really nervous as he walked down the aisle with his class but he did great and was so proud when he was done. After the mass they had a little celebration dinner at the church which was really nice. He was really happy to share the day with his Grandparents and Aunt. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and gifts he loved every one of them. It is so amazing to watch your child grow in Faith. I have no greater wish for my children then that they grow up to know and love God and become the Godly men that they were designed to be.

These are from Aidan's last soccer game. He had a fun time playing even if he really hasn't quite fully figured out how the game works. They all received medals and treats after their last game. He is once again very proud of his medal.

Aidan's gymnastics class had there final class today and they had the Cricket Olympics where basically they did all of the events they do every day for their parents and then they got a medal at the end. Aidan was so happy that his Daddy and brother could come and watch him finally. They weren't nearly as happy to be up and out by 8am but once we got there it was really cute. They did floor, beam, vault, tumble track, and bars. I finally was able to get some good video. We are going to take a break over the summer and maybe we will find a new gym when we get to Virginia. I tried to upload all 5 videos but it took me over an hour just to get two videos up so I gave up. I will have to try again later when I have more time.
