Happy 4th of July! We went to our city's 4th of July parade and festival this morning. It was a gorgeous day for it as it was only 80 degrees this morning. Nick was shivering and trying to crawl under the blanket he was so cold. It quickly warmed up but man it felt so nice. I hope that weather continues for a few more days. The parade was very cool. Prattville is a very patriotic town. Everyone was wearing red, white, and blue and sporting flags. The boys loved that every car and float in the parade through out candy. They each came home with a huge bag of candy and toys. I wasn't as happy when the swim team float came by shooting super soakers at us but we dried out fast. After the parade they had a huge festival in the park downtown with vendors and food and bouncy houses. We sat and watched the cardboard boat races which was hilarious. Basically they give teams tons of cardboard and a role of duct tape and they try to make a boat that they can float across the pool on without it sinking. Nick says he is definitely making a boat next year. After some time in the bouncy houses and playing at the park we called it a day. Tomorrow, we are going to church and then having a picnic with friends and heading to local fireworks. Hope everyone is having as much fun as we are!
