Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Nick had a party at school today where they played games and had a potluck lunch. He is always excited to get to eat lunch at school. He wants to stay for lunch everyday but it costs more money so we don't let him. Nick is very excited for trick or treating tonight. Jeremy is going to take him out for a little while and then we are going to go to the Fall Festival at church. They have food and games for the kids. Aidan and I are going to stay home and pass out candy since it is during his bedtime. Hope everyone had a good day!

Playgroup Halloween Party

Today was our playgroup Halloween party. Nick had a blast doing the activities and crafts and of course jumping in the bouncy house. He asked when we could get a bouncy house for our house. As much as I am sure that would be a great way to expend energy those things are expensive even for a small one. Aidan didn't want to wear his pumpkin costume for more then a few minutes so I gave up trying and just let him run around in his pumpkin onesie. One of the crafts was making skeleton pictures out of pasta. Nick loved that. It was so simple too, just some Elmer's glue and a bunch of different sized pasta. I think we will have to try that one at home sometime. There was a bunch of Halloween treats which Nick made sure to try every one of them. So he has been on a sugar high again today. That poor kid is going to have such a bellyache by the end of the week. Nicks police costume is becoming more cumbersome then I thought it would be because the belt that holds all the accesories is too big and keeps falling down and all the toys get in his way while he is playing. Luckily, it only has to survive one more day. The other kids in the pictures are Colton and Ryan who are Nicks best friends and Ryans little brother Cole. Also, the cute little dragon is my best friend Kathy's son Jack.

Pumpkin Carving with Daddy

Jeremy and the boys finally carved their pumpkin today. Our pumpkin is big and smiley now. Here are some pictures of the boys carving the pumpkin. Nick sat it out on the porch and put a candle in it because he said it needed to be lit up. So officially it is a jack-o-lantern now.

Aidan's 9 months old

Aidan is 9 months old today. Time is flying by so fast now. With Nick I was wishing for him to grow up and meet all his milestones faster but this time I just want time to slow down. I want him to stay small and cuddly and sweet. Aidan's 9 month check up went well. He weighs 19 pounds 8 ounces which is down a little bit from his last check up but I don't put too much stake into the scale at the peds office as it isn't very accurate. He seems to be doing well without Reglan which is a huge step for us in the GERD battle. Only a flu shot so that is nice as well. It was the first doctors appointment ever that wasn't stressful. It has been a long and draining nine months at times and there was a while where we weren't sure if we would make it to this point, but for the first time in a while things are finally starting to look up. Aidan's Upper GI came back clean this week and revealed that his LES is finally closing on its own which it wasn't doing even a month ago. Also, his esphogus seemed to be clear of the ulcers. We are very thankful and grateful to God for bringing us to this point. Aidan is such a joy and a blessing in our lives and we can't wait to watch him grow up, just not too fast!

By the way my little nephew is taking his drivers license test this week and that makes me feel so old. He was Nick's age when Jeremy and I first started dating ten years ago. I still seem to think of him as a little kid even though he is 6 foot 2 and grows facial hair. All this is just a reminder that life goes by fast and we just need to relax and enjoy all the blessings God gives us everyday.

Base Fall Festival

Sometimes it is really nice living on a military base. Today the base hosted a Fall Festival and they had carnival games and foods and pumpkin decorating. The kids had a blast! Nick kept using all of his tickets to go in the bouncy house. He got a dragon painted on his face and made a pirate pumpkin. Everyone wanted to hold Aidan because they said he was the cutest pumpkin they had ever seen. Of course Nick got lots of candy. Nick's teeth are going to fall out from all the sugar he has been inhaling in the past few weeks.

There is a tradition on base every year called Boo Baskets. Basically you fill a basket with Halloween goodies and then secretly place it on the door step of a neighbor and ring the door bell and run away. Then you put up a Boo sign on your door so you don't get another basket. We got booed a week ago and Nick is still working on all the candy from the basket. I am enjoying my pumpkin slippers that were inside. Nick was super excited to Boo someone else this year. He picked his friend Colton who is also our neighbor. So we picked out a Spiderman bucket and filled it up and Nick and I walked it over and Nick rang the doorbell and we bolted. He thought that was the best. He laughed so hard. Of course he ruined the secretive part when 2 days later I dropped him off for the carpool to school and he says Colton did you like your Spiderman bucket? O'h well. Someday he will get the total concept. We have 3 other Halloween parties this week. So I am sure there will be lots more pics to post. Enjoy!

Silly Boys

Here are some recent pictures of the boys just being silly at home. The blue on Aidan's mouth in the top picture is playdough that his brother was nice enough to share with him. It's no wonder that kid has heartburn. It is so fun now that the boys are interacting with each other. They both purposefully try to annoy the other one. I am sure there will be plenty more of that to come.

Avila Valley Barn

We went to the Avila Valley Barn today. Nick and his Daddy went on a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and picked out a very large pumpkin. Then Nick and Aidan went and played in the haybale mazes. Nick got both his Daddy and Mommy lost in the large maze. Of course, Nick couldn't leave his favorite place without some homemade ice cream. So we all had some ice cream even Aidan. It was a beautiful warm day and we all had a great time. These are the days I will cherish when the boys grow up.
