Happy Birthday Aidan!

Aidan is one years old today. It is hard to believe it has been a whole year today. It has gone by so fast and he is becoming such a big boy now. We are so thankful for Aidan and all that he has added to our lives this year. Despite the struggles with his health this year he has brought so much joy to our family. Today we went to Solvang with the Grandparents and Aidan shared some cookies with his Grandpa. We opened his presents this evening. His favorite present was his radio flyer rocket ride on. He didn't want to get off of it so we could put it together. Aidan got lots of other great presents but really was more interested in the bags and wrapping then what was in them. I am sure his brother will help him break the presents in over the next few days.

Aidan's 1rst Birthday Party

We had Aidan's 1rst Birthday party today at the community center on base. We were going to have a big BBQ at the park but it has rained all week and we had a huge thunderstorm today. So it worked out better. We ordered pizza and had fruit and cupcakes. The kids ran around like crazy probably due to being cooped up all week from the rain. Aidan made a big mess of his little cake and was a pretty happy camper despite us having to wake him from his morning nap to go to the party. Despite not really ingesting a lot of the cake Aidan had a pretty bad reaction to it and has had a severe diaper rash the rest of the day and has been screaming from the reflux so I guess no more cake for him. Jeremy says it might have been a mandarin orange he ate which his brother can't tolerate either so who knows. The boys really enjoyed getting to spend time with their Grandparents and Auntie Stacy who are here visiting for the week. I think all the attention really wore Aidan out because he just collapsed in his crib this evening. All in all, we had a really great day.

Nick's Hockey Debut

Tonight was Nick's first night at Floor Hockey. He loved every minute of it. He sometimes forgets that his stick needs to stay on the ground so it is good that they are just soft foamy things on the end of the sticks. Aidan wanted to play so bad too. He walked over to the sticks and took one out and walked out to the floor with it like Hello pass it to me! He wants to do everything that his big brother does. It was a great energy expender for both boys.

My Two Little Fishes

We went to the Lompoc Aquatic Center today since Nick didn't have school today and Jeremy didn't have to work. Both the boys love the water! Aidan doesn't seem to have very good temperature control and after about 20 minutes he starts turning blue and shivering so then we go to the therapy pool which is at 88 degrees and swim in there for the rest of the time. Aidan went on the waterslide with his Mom today and loved it and kept trying to crawl back up the stairs to go again. Nick is really close to swimming on his own. He is floating and kicking well just can't quite figure out the breathing thing to put it all together. He really wants to take more swimming lessons but I think we will wait until the spring when Hockey and Soccer are done. Hope everyone had a relaxing Holiday.

Aidan's Walking

Aidan was walking a few months ago but kind of gave it up the last few months due to a constant ear infection for 6 weeks. Well now he is back to walking most of the time. Here is a video of him walking. I will try to get a better video of it this week because the wobbly walk is so sweet.

Feeding the Ducks

We went to Waller Park today with the boys to feed the ducks. Aidan wanted to hop in the pond but other then that the boys had a great time. Aidan has no fear and followed his brother around everywhere and chased after the poor ducks at the park. It was really a beautiful morning here with lots of sun and very little wind. It is supposed to get cold soon so we are trying to enjoy it while we can.
