Our Front Yard

Now our front yard has been overtaken by construction too. They are digging it up to add new pipelines for the new housing areas. Hopefully, this will be the last time they dig up our yard until after we move. Aidan loves to watch the diggers. He sits outside in awe and when he comes inside he pulls his stool up to the kitchen window to watch.

Our Backyard

This is the view from behind the fence in our backyard. It used to be the view into our neighbors backyard and there were houses as far as the eye could see. Now it is just flat ground awaiting new housing to go up. It has been obnoxious living in the middle of a construction zone but the boys love sitting outside and watching the trucks do their work. Tomorrow they are digging up our front yard to put in some more piping for water and electrical for the new housing development so we will try to take some more pictures of the big holes in our front yard. They are also cutting down the big tree that is right behind our fence. Hopefully, it won't fall down on our house.

Nick's Soccer Game

Nick has had two weeks of soccer games now after a month of practices and is loving every minute of it. He is on the yellow dragons this season. They are 2-0 so far thanks to a couple of his teammates who are really talented. We had to have a talk about sportsmanship after the first week because of some trash talking but he did much better this week. One of Nick's teammates Jack is about 2 feet taller then all the other 5 year olds and you can just tell his coordination hasn't caught up with his body yet as every time he gets near the ball he just falls all over the place. It is still pretty comical at this age. They still run in a huge pack with the ball despite Nick's coach's best efforts to keep them in their positions. They get so excited when they score or even get it near the goal. I hope it stays this fun for a while.

Rocket Launch

We went and watched a Delta 2 rocket launch today. I tried to take some video for you all to see but it is kind of hard to see on the video because we were so far away and the bottom of the launch pad was fogged in so you didn't really get to see the rocket until after it got above the marine layer. The boys had a good time and enjoyed hearing the countdown.

My Little Bully

The boys fight like cats and dogs now. Ahhh the joys of having a sibling. The funny thing is that Aidan is the one who usually starts the fights as you will see in the video. Nick was laying peacefully on the couch watching tv when Aidan climbed up and attacked him. I hope you all get a good laugh from it. I know we did!

Labor Day Fun

We went to the beach on base to relax on Labor Day. It was a little chilly as the fog rolled in early but that didn't seem to stop the boys from having a good time. They played football and collected sea shells and built sandcastles with their dumptrucks. All in all, not a bad day off.
