Chuck E Cheese

Nick had a birthday party last night for his friend Ryan at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a blast and played games for hours and ate pizza and cake. Here are some pictures from the event.

Race car driver Nick

Note to self get off the road in 2018. We took Nick to the go-cart track today and luckily there was no one else on the track while we were there because he was crashing all over the place. I think he got his driving skills from his Uncle Brian (and that's not a good thing). I told Jeremy that he will be in charge of the drivers training when Nick turns 15. I think most of his problems were from the steering wheel being really hard to turn but it was really quite humorous to watch. He got out and asked when he could drive our car. Not for a long time!

Nick has pneumonia

I swear when it rains it pours. I am extremely glad this month that we have fabulous insurance because between all 4 of us we have been to the doctors office more times then I can count. Poor Nick has had a cough for over a week and we just thought it was allergies/asthma as usual. Well I finally broke down and took him to the doctor today since he didn't sleep at all last night and they said he has pneumonia. Poor kid his pulse ox was 88 even while we had been using his inhalers. I really didn't think he was that bad. So they gave him a breathing treatment and sent us home with more asthma meds and steroids so hopefully he will be feeling better soon. I swear between the three of us we could open up a pharmacy we have so many medicines on our counter. Hopefully, we can all get healthy soon. Please send healthy vibes our way.

First Trip to UCLA

Well we survived our first trip to UCLA to meet with Aidan's surgeon. All went well and he is still recommending doing the fundoplication surgery. UCLA was a fabulous facility and everyone seemed very nice but it is so huge. I was so happy that I brought the stroller because we had to walk like 4 miles to the building that his appointment was in. The traffic was horrendous around there too. I have officially vowed never to move to LA. It took us 45 minutes to just get onto the highway which was approximately a mile from the Medical Center. I can't believe people sit in that traffic for hours every day. The surgeon ordered some more tests so we have to go back there for a 2 day stay in a couple weeks. Hopefully between those tests and the two GI appointments next week we can finally come to a decision on whether or not we should do this surgery. Aidan seems to be doing worse on his new meds so maybe that is a sign. He was such a good little traveler today sleeping most of the 6 hour car ride. Everyone that met him at UCLA said how cute and of course how big he is. So we'll keep you posted when the rest of the test results come back.

Baptism Meltdown

Baptism is supposed to be a peaceful, joyful event where family and friends come together before the church to commit a new life to the church but yesterday was anything but peaceful. Aidan Patrick was baptised at Our Lady of the Stars Church yesterday after mass. It was all going well. They called us up in the middle of Mass to announce that he was being baptised and other then Nick laying on the floor in the middle of the Priest asking questions, all was going well. Then we moved to the Holy Sacrament room for the actual Baptism and it all went downhill from there. For some reason Nick decided he had enough of all the sitting still and being quiet and decided to throw the temper tantrum of a lifetime. The pictures and video are hilarious looking back at them now but in the moment I was having thoughts about running away. I am pretty sure it is a sin to threaten your child while in a Church but I tried everything to get him to stop. The Priest finally asked if we wanted to stop and take him out. It was mortifying. It is only fitting that he cried through his brothers baptism since he cried through his own. Needless to say we are actually glad that it was this Priests last Sunday. Other then that it went good. Aidan laughed throughout the whole thing and loved the attention. Of course his Godparents 3 kids were perfect angels and didn't say boo throughout the whole ceremony. We had a big BBQ afterwards to celebrate and luckily Nick cheered up after he got some food in his belly. The boys played all afternoon and we all took an afternoon nap. All in all, a very memorable day! Enjoy the pics.
