We made our annual trip to Choo Choo Bob's. My boys love that store. This is the first year we didn't make any major purchases. Nick sadly is starting to outgrow his love of all things trains but his brother is still thoroughly fascinated with them and would have stayed at Choo-Choo Bob's all day if we would have let him.

Lots of Swimming and Popsicles
Both places we stayed at had kiddie pools in the backyard so the boys took full advantage while the weather was nice and did lots of swimming. It's amazing how much fun boys can have when you add a kiddie slide to a kiddie pool. They enjoyed many popsicles outside as well. Perfect fun in the summer.
Como Zoo
Grandma M., Nick and Aidan in the conservatory.
We spent a Saturday with Grandma M. at Como Zoo and Conservatory. Still one of the best free zoo's in the U.S. The boys loved all the animals especially the seals which is funny because they could have cared less about the seals in California. Grandma spoiled them rotten and let them ride some rides in ComoTown Amusement Park and bought them mini-donuts. It was a very fun day and we got a beautiful warm sunny day for it. We are looking forward to next summer when they finally finish the polar bears new home and bring them back. That was always my favorite part of the Como Zoo as a kid.
Backyard Baseball
The boys had lots of opportunity to play baseball in the backyard with all the family we had around. There was always someone to toss a ball to them and let them magically get to home plate before the ball could make it back for an instant homerun. Jeremy is very happy to see Aidan choosing to hit left-handed. He is hoping he has a little Joe Mauer on his hands. He throws right handed though as far as I can tell although he still uses both hands so only time will tell.

Cooter's Pond
We took the boys out in the boat last night to do some fishing at the river by our house. The name of the park where we launched our boat is called Cooter's Pond. Yes, only in Alabama would you find a spot named Cooter's pond. It was a really quiet inlet off the river. The boys loved fishing and the boat ride. Unfortunately, no fish were brought in over the hour we were there. Aidan got a new Spongebob fishing pole and he was just content to cast over and over again. He has his Daddy's crazy drive and love for fishing. He cried because he didn't want to go home. He wanted to stay and fish more. Like Father like son.
My husband loves Alabama!
Nick shooting all by himself.
Jeremy is happier then he has been in years for 2 reasons. We live down the street from a Bass Pro Shops and less then 2 miles from a major fishing spot. He loves Alabama. I swear before we even unpacked a box in our house we had spent hours in the Bass Pro Shops and gone to see the boat launch at the local fishing hole. A man's got to have his priorities right.
Our New Home
Saying goodbye to our house in California.
Arriving at our new house in Alabama.
Nick striking a pose at the pool.
The outdoor waterslide park at our gym.
The boys hanging in their new playroom.
Sorry it has been so long since I last posted but it has been a crazy past few months vactioning in MN and now trying to get settled in our new home in Alabama. We arrived in one piece and so far are really enjoying it. I am going to try and catch up on the 700+ pictures from our summer vacation this week and get this blog updated so I can go on with life here. We have unpacked just about everything and are trying to get settled and find our new rhythm here in Alabama. We need to get Nick registered for school and Football this week. Jeremy is finally going back to work this week and so reality will hit home much more now. In our free time we have been enjoying our new gym which has a sweet outdoor pool. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we have been.
