It was a beautiful sunny day here so we went to a park in Shell Beach today. It was a really nice park overlooking the ocean. They had all kinds of sea animal sculptures to play on. Nick brought his sand toys and played for quite some time in the sand. Aidan liked crawling around in the sand too. He was most fascinated with these eggs that you could crawl inside and play in. He thought those were great. On the way home we stopped for ice cream cones at McDonalds and both boys had a blast playing in the playland.

Picnic at Cocheo Park
Today we met some friends for a picnic lunch at Cocheo Park. The kids had a great time playing as it was a pretty nice day here. Aidan tries so hard to keep up with the big kids. I don't think it will be long until he walks because as soon as he figures out that it will get him around faster he will be off.
Tonight our neighbors, the Archers, had Nick, Aidan and I over for a pizza dinner since Jeremy is working. Grant their youngest son is Nick's age and they have become very good friends and he wants to constantly go over there and play. Of course, he wants to go over there without his very uncool Mom. He is Mr. Social and already has a social calendar. I can't imagine what life is going to be like when he is a teenager.

The Flu Shot Band-Aid
Nick and Aidan both got flu shots today. Aidan let out a yelp but didn't really cry and Nick didn't cry at all. He was so proud of himself for not crying he has told everyone about it today and has been showing everyone his yellow crayon Band-Aid. So we are posting a picture so Grandma can see his Band-Aid.
Aidan is in love with the dog and I have been trying to get a picture of him laying on her because he totally curls up with her and uses her as a pillow and it is so cute but everytime I turn on the camera he looks up and tries to come get the camera. He is still a little rough with her but he will cuddle with her on the dog pillow when he is tired. I am sure the dog appreciates that more then getting her ears and fur yanked on. Hopefully, one of these days I will get the picture.

The Boy Tornado
Nick had his 2 best friends over today, Ryan and Colton. We rotate having the boys over at each others houses once a week because everyday at school they make plans about hanging out together and get mad when we don't take them all home. So anyways, today was our day and I think these boys must have been storing up energy all morning at school. They seriously ran circles around my living room for over an hour. They called it racing. Some day I am going to make millions off of harnessing the energy of little boys. Little boys are like tornadoes in that they some how throw everything around that they come near. Somehow every toy in our house made it out at one time or another. I also don't know how little boys can make so much noise. I swear the decibel level in our house was louder then a rock concert. Surprisingly, Aidan took a nap in the middle of all the ruckus. I guess that means he is used to the noise from his brother. All three boys must be getting ready to grow because they all ate 4 slices of pizza, apple slices, cupcakes, and some snacks out of Nick's Halloween bucket. After running circles for hours and playing jungle gym on all my furniture they decided to go outside and ride bikes at ninety miles an hour. I seriously need more sleep to keep up with these silly boys!

Boomers
We took the boys to Boomers Amusement Park today. Nick and his Daddy played 18 holes of mini-golf. Nick is getting to be a very good golfer. He usually hit his Daddy's ball in too because he said he needed the help. Jeremy made a hole in one so I don't think he really needed any help. Of course Nick wanted to drive the race cars again too. He was really upset that he couldn't go on the big race cars with his Daddy. Although he could ride with his Daddy on the big ones he wasn't tall enough to drive them and if he couldn't drive he didn't want to go. Afterwards, we went out to dinner at one of Nick's favorite restaurants Red Robin. We all had really good cheeseburgers. Aidan was surprisingly very happy the whole time even through the long wait at dinner.

GMH Kick-Off Party
Our base housing changed to a private contracting company on November 1, and so now a company called GMH takes our $2000 a month instead of the government. The bonus with this company is that they come and mow are yard. So anyways, the new company had a welcome/kick-off barbeque today at Cocheo Park. It was a beautiful day here. It was 77 degrees and not a cloud in the sky and there was no wind at all. It was seriously one of the most beautiful days we have ever had here. So my friend Kathy and I walked the 2.5 miles each way to the park with the double strollers in tow. They had a big BBQ with lots of good food. They had tons of games and bouncy houses for the kids. Nick's favorite part beside the bouncy house was the cotton candy. It was a little crazy because I swear all 1100 people on base were there at one time or another. We let the kids play for a while and then since it was such a nice day we let them play at the park for another couple of hours. Aidan slept the entire walk home he was so worn out. Nick and his friend Maggie collected leaves on their walk home. Aidan and Nick both got a balloon and Aidan has been obsessed with his. All in all, a very fun day.

Trick or Treating
Nicholas had a blast trick or treating. He went with his friends Maggie and Anna. They literally sprinted from door to door. They were so excited that I thought we might be out there all night. After about an hour their buckets were getting heavy and they all asked to go home. Nick asked if he could ride on the stroller with Aidan. So we called it a night. Nick helped his Daddy pass out candy for the rest of the night which he thought was just as exciting as trick or treating. We had probably 250 trick or treaters. We went through 6 large 100+ piece bags of candy. It was crazy. All in all, the boys had a great night. Aidan keeps trying to open the candy that his brother leaves out. Funny how he senses there must be something good in there.
