VBS 2012-Amazing Wonders Aviation

This week we spent our mornings at Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church. I taught a Kindergarten class so that Aidan could go to. We had a great week and both boys not only learned a lot but truly had a ton of fun. The theme was aviation and it really was so well executed. We had craft time, story time, recreation(games), snack time, missions time, and singing time. They had all kinds of contests during the week that kept the kids engaged all week. From bringing in money for missions(which they raised over $5000 to dig two new wells for a third world country that doesn't have clean drinking water) and bringing in canned food for the local food pantry(they filled an entire semi-truck with food) to spirit wear contests to treats for memorizing your bible verses. Hands down one of the best bible schools we have ever been to and worked at. Some of the highlights of the week were Aidan winning the costume contest on Flight day for his age group. He literally worked all night on an airplane he made out of a box from our craft room. He was so proud. Also, at parents night on Wednesday night just hearing your own children belting out the songs we learned all week. I loved it and am so thankful that so many of my friends not only encouraged us to attend but to help out. God truly blessed our family this week. Most of the pictures are from family night when they had dinner and bouncy houses and pony rides and snow cones etc. and then a performance.
