Nick's 9th Birthday

Having his favorite breakfast, cinnamon rolls and smoothies
He made his Mom make a baseball cake. This is the best I could do.
 Nick at Basketball camp

We decorated the house with a Nationals Theme.

 Opening presents

Eating cake and ice cream with his pals.

All the birthday presents which consisted of lots of baseball stuff.

Hot Dogs, Fries and ice cream at the ballpark.
Trying to keep up with the scorecard.
 Best Buds at the ballpark.

Nick turned 9 yesterday. Some days it feels like just yesterday he was born in Minot and other days he seems so grown up all ready. He had a very merry baseball birthday party yesterday. He has been at basketball camp all week with his friends Ben & Max. So after 4 hours of camp we had the boys and the neighbor kids over for cake and ice cream and then they just played for a couple hours with all the new presents. Then we headed to Nationals ballpark in DC to watch the Washington Nationals play the  New York Mets. The ballpark is small but has a really intimate feel. The bottom seats where we sat felt like you were on the field. It is right on the Potomac River and has an amazing view from the top. It was a great game and was a nail biter that went into extra innings and they pulled it out 5-4 in the 11th. The boys cheered their hearts out and were standing on the seats screaming they loved it so much. Despite not getting home until midnight and having to get up early again today for basketball camp Nick had an awesome day. He even got to talk to his Daddy at the game. Thanks to everyone that sent presents. He loved them all so much. Don't know what ballpark we will have to go to next year but at least the streak of losing on his birthday has come to an end.

The first video is of the kids singing Happy Birthday where my silly kid was trying to fake eat the cake the whole time. The second video is of them trying to get on the big screen but dancing and cheering. I didn't have the heart to tell them that we were on the wrong side for the cameras. They did it every time the cameras were out. They did all kinds of silly dances. It was quite hilarious.
